In 2021, Jurjen Galema developed his long-term concept The Seven Deadly Sins within the Young Grunn Artist III programme. His concept is inspired by the 14th-century book La Divina Commedia (The Divine Comedy) by the Italian writer Dante Alighieri. Since then, Jurjen has transformed five of the seven sins into impressive soft sculptures. The latest in the series is The Gluttonous Mountain, commissioned by Into Nature for the VAM-berg. A striking, colorful fabric artwork of a sleeping three-headed dog inspired by Cerberus, a creature from the Greek mythology, based on the sin gluttony. Unlike Dante’s depiction of Cerberus as a bloodthirsty creature that prevents the gluttons from escaping the third circle of hell, Jurjen transformed this creature into a large, soft sculpture that materialises its presence in our earthly realm.

In 2022, Jurjen transformed NP3 | MOBi into Le Lola Nightclub, an exhibition and events. Le Lola Nightclub was inspired by the deadly sins of pride and lust.

In 2023, Jurjen created the work House of Sloth for the Terug naar het Begin Festival, based on the deadly sin sloth. House of Sloth was on display in the DISplay space of NP3 | RE:Search:Gallery throughout the summer of 2023.
