Artist Dré Wapenaar works on the edge of architecture, design and sculpturing arts. He creates works that researches the way groups and individual people relate to each other, meet each other or just ‘stay’; focused on interaction, dynamic and confrontation between human and environment. With the drop-shaped Treetent Dré designs an intimate, salvaged space. The tents are constructed to hang in trees in a natural way. The Treetent originally is inspired on the support of ‘tree activists’. During their protest activities they could nestle in a natural way, close to the treetops, strongly mounted to the tree trunk becoming completely one with nature.
